Documentation for AtomicTax sales tax automation — onboarding your business, managing your account, integrations, and where to find developer resources.

Getting started

AtomicTax helps online businesses calculate sales tax, track nexus, prepare reports, and file where you are registered. Sign in through the merchant web app to complete onboarding and connect your sales channels.

First steps

  • Create your account and verify your email.
  • Complete your business profile (legal entity, address, tax IDs where applicable).
  • Connect stores or payment platforms you use (see Integrations).
  • Review nexus settings and enable sales tax calculation for your checkout flows.

Detailed step-by-step walkthroughs will expand here over time. Use the links below for live apps and developer docs.

Account & billing

Manage team members, roles, subscription or billing details (where applicable), and API access from your account settings inside the merchant application.

Merchant REST API tokens

Create and rotate long-lived API tokens under Account settings → API access. Use these tokens for server-side integrations with the partner API documented on the developer site.

Sales tax & filings

AtomicTax combines transaction data from your integrations with jurisdiction rules to support calculations, reporting, and filing workflows according to your registrations and available product features.

Common topics

  • Nexus monitoring and state configuration.
  • Sales tax reports by jurisdiction or period.
  • Filing history and related records in the app.

Expand this section with screenshots and state-specific guidance as your content library grows.

Integrations

Connect ecommerce and payment platforms so AtomicTax can ingest orders and revenue data used for tax calculations and reporting. Availability depends on your plan and enabled channels.

Channels

  • Shopify — install and authorize through the in-app Shopify connection flow.
  • Stripe — link your Stripe account where supported.
  • Amazon Seller / WooCommerce / Magento — follow the guided install flows in the app.

If you use a custom storefront, consider the partner REST API for posting transactions from your backend.

API & developers

Integrators should use the AtomicTax public API reference — sales tax calculation, business profile, transactions, nexus, exemptions, filings history (read), and reporting endpoints — against the partner API host for your environment.

Privacy & support

Protect API tokens and restrict access to administrators who need them. For trust, privacy, and legal notices, refer to the policies published on your corporate site or within the application as applicable.
